Rhyme Without Reason
I stand accused of playing with words, on and off, time to time
I often exhibit an irrepressible urge to rhyme
So I dabble in poetry and I created this blog
I set myself a challenge each morning while walking the dog
I start with a rhyme, strict syllable count, maybe some meter
Images to set the mood either sourer or sweeter
Internal rhymes and bad puns, words forced to fit, you know the ones.
Like instead of "café" using "cafeteria," and tons
of metric devices, strained metaphors that hardly make sense
saying I'm rhyming on a suspended poetic license!
