Cinnamon Shirt
I want to wear a cinnamon shirt
I could be happy erecting a yurt
in my cinnamon shirt
A poser for pictures, I stay out all night
To capture the fabric reflecting the moonlight
My cinnamon shirt
Ma do my laundry now
I gotta wear it somehow
I need another chance
To get dressed and go out to dance
Ten silver buttons, some lace with a bow
I'm ordering mutton sometimes just for show
In my cinnamon shirt
A writer of fiction, I type in the night
Describe how the fabric, it gleams in the moonlight
My cinnamon shirt.
Ma do my laundry now
I gotta wear it somehow
I need another chance
To get dressed and go out to dance
(dance, yeah, yeah!)
(I'd offer apologies to Neil Young, but I suspect he's just fine without them)
